Chegem is part of a savings group in her village in Uganda, where the global hunger crisis has created enormous challenges. Before joining the group, which is facilitated by Tearfund’s partner Vision Terudo, Chegem farmed just one acre of land. The food she grew was barely sufficient, and her children became malnourished. Vision Terudo helped them with supplementary feeding during that time of extreme food shortages, and now they’re healthy.

Agricultural training, better quality seeds and a small loan to hire more farmland all mean that Chegem is now growing healthy crops to nourish her family.
