First Peoples: A Healing Journey

Description
Tearfund supports the Christian organisation Strong Women Talking, a movement of First Nations women who are passionate about breaking the cycle of violence caused by domestic and family violence and sexual abuse. Akahlia, a proud Butchulla, Woppaburra and Bunjalung woman, took part in a Healing Journey, a series of culturally safe workshops that help women support each other to learn about healthy relationships. Her artwork “My Aboriginal Land – The Healing Journey” is pictured here. This gift supports women as they journey to healing.
