Water is life! But in many parts of the world, a lack of access to safe water puts lives, health and development at risk. This gift helps people access lifegiving clean water and reduces preventable diseases.

Ongoing poverty can force people to use unsafe, contaminated or distant water sources. By purchasing this gift, you are supporting Tearfund’s partners working with communities to help them access clean water.

In Ethiopia, as in so many parts of the world, lack of access to safe water puts lives, health and development at risk. Our local Christian partner the Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church Development Commission (EKHCDC) is working with communities to establish water supply infrastructure and promote simple measures that improve hygiene and sanitation.

Aberash (pictured) is collecting water for her family from a water point near her home. EKHCDC worked with her community to extend a pipeline from a reservoir 80 kilometres away so that people in the village can access water for cooking, drinking and washing clothes much more easily.
