Supporting training in culturally appropriate techniques to strengthen relationships, this gift will equip these leaders to be better able to support people to live in healthy families and stronger communities.

With this gift, you’ll help train Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders community leaders like Robert Gaykamangu (pictured) to work with families in their communities and support positive change.

Nungalinya College in the Northern Territory trains Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders to work with families in their communities, through the Tearfund-supported Faith and Family Wellbeing program. In this Certificate II course, students learn skills to help them cope with situations of stress and conflict, as well as self-care practices. Robert, who is from Arnhem Land, took the course in 2022. He says the conflict resolution skills he has learned have been very helpful when tensions have arisen in his community.
