How your gift helps

Tearfund has worked with local partners in Afghanistan for over 40 years, supporting communities facing conflict, poverty, environmental disasters, and mental health challenges. In one of the hardest places to live, their work includes clean water and sanitation, food security, maternal and child health, income generation, and mental health support.

These women pictured once walked 40 minutes to collect dirty water that would make their families sick. Tearfund's local partner installed a pipeline in their village, restoring health and dignity, “We used to drink from the same place as cows and sheep,” one woman shared, “now we have clean water. We are very happy and thankful for your support!”
