With this gift, you’ll help our partners support households to earn an income through animal husbandry, rearing animals such as chickens or other livestock. Raising animals can also provide nutritious food for a family.

How your gift helps

Your gift supports food and livelihood projects run by Tearfund’s partners around the world. Thank you for your support. For 18 year old Abdul* from Afghanistan, the gift of chickens means nutritious eggs for his family and income to support household expenses.

Tragically Abdul’s father was killed 12 years ago, leaving his family incredibly vulnerable. In grade 5 Abdul left school to become the main breadwinner in his home.

Tearfund’s local partner has been helping Abdul increase his earnings through poultry farming. After just one month of caring for his chickens, his income had already grown, bringing renewed hope for his family's future.
