How your gift helps

There are places in our world where people experience the most severe aspects of poverty and injustice: not only a lack of food or income, but oppression, persecution and violence.

In the Karamoja Region of Northern Uganda, harsh conditions have driven communities into the dangers of cattle raiding. Recently droughts and floods have pushed families to the edge of hunger. Tearfund’s partner, Vision Terudo, responded with emergency food relief, alongside training, hardy seeds and the formation of savings groups.

Today, many families in the community are earning a safe and sustainable income with enough to feed their children and send them to school – building a more hopeful future.
