How your gift helps
This Useful Gift empowers farmers with training, resources and support so they can grow nutritious food for themselves and their communities. Mary is an active member of her local community group, which is facilitated by Tearfund’s local Christian partner the Reformed Church in Zambia Diaconia Response.
Mary’s family helps her manage her garden – and it’s grown to be a flourishing paradise which not only feeds her family, but is becoming a thriving business! Mulberries, maize, okra, bananas, pumpkin and kale are just some of the delicious and healthy crops they’re growing.
"I am imparting the knowledge to my family – to my children, and their children," says Mary.
