How your gift helps
Tearfund’s partners are faithfully at work in some of the hardest places in our world, where multiple crises converge and communities simultaneously face the worst impacts of challenges like poverty, conflict and drought. They may also face oppression, discrimination and displacement, all of which exacerbate poverty and make it harder for communities to build their resilience.
The local organisations Tearfund partners with understand the needs of the communities they work in, and are in the best position to develop sustainable responses, for example through health care, education, water and sanitation work and mental health support.
One of those organisations is Reformed Open Community Schools (ROCS), part of the Reformed Church in Zambia, which works in schools and villages, supporting people to access education, set up savings groups, learn about nutrition, sanitation and hygiene, and enjoy better crop yields. People in these communities – like the women pictured – are enjoying a renewed sense of hope, born of improved health, better education outcomes for kids, and thriving farms.
All printed cards and envelopes use PEFC certified paper and are produced according to ISO 14001 environmental standards.
