In southern Somalia, Jamilah’s* mother could tell something was wrong when her daughter lost weight and her energy faded. She turned to a trusted clinic supported by Tearfund’s local partner, where Jamilah was quickly treated for acute malnutrition, and her mother given support and resources to help her thrive. “Many children here are malnourished and were cured in this health clinic,” Jamilah’s mother said. For families in Somalia, free clinics and a network of community health volunteers have become lifelines for families living in the midst of conflict, climate disasters, inflation and displacement.
