How your gift helps

There are places in our world where people experience the most severe aspects of poverty and injustice: not only a lack of food or income, but oppression, persecution and violence. Tearfund partners with local organisations that are courageously present in these hard places.

Ahmad*, who lives in Afghanistan, has experienced illness and economic stress over the past few years, and felt sad, anxious and isolated. A volunteer from one of Tearfund’s partners helped him to access resources about mental health, as well as medication, counselling sessions and vocational training.

“Now I have a job,” Ahmad said. “I am happy and I don’t have time to think about disappointing things.”
