First Peoples: Stronger Communities

Description
This gift supports community development initiatives led by and in partnership with First Peoples of Australia. We provide a platform for the voices of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander partners to be heard by the wider Australian community, and we mobilise Australian Christians to work towards a more just and equitable society.
How your gift helps
Tearfund’s Brisbane-based partner Strong Women Talking works alongside women and families, helping them break the cycle of violence and address the impacts of intergenerational trauma in their lives. Strong Women Talking works in culturally appropriate ways to help women develop a strong sense of belonging and identity to be able to fulfil their God-given potential. Artwork by Chris de Hoog, an artist with Indigenous heritage from Tasmania.
