My Dear TEAR Goat

(to the tune of My Highland Goat)

My dear TEAR goat
Is doing fine
She makes great milk
All of the time.

There was just one
I got last year
But now it seems
She's met a peer.

The growing herd
On the Afghan plains
Give the poor farmers
Lots of gains.

My dear TEAR goat
Was a Christmas gift
The best I got
It gave me a lift.

This year I think
I'll buy a loo
For my dear mum
Or maybe two?

Give Me A Garden Full Of Veggies

(to the tune of Give Me a Home Among the Gumtrees)

Oh, Give me a garden full of veggies
With lots of health care
Some trees for you
And a goat or two.
A toilet out the back
A new school down the road
And a clean water tank.

And when my friends all ask me
Which gifts I will adore
I'll tell them right away:

Give me a gift from TEAR Australia
With lots of health care
Some trees for you
And a goat or two.
A toilet out the back
A new school down the road
From the World's Most Useful
Gift Catalogue!

Poems

Ode to a mosquito net

How many nets
Can you get?
How many nets can there be?
There's surfing the net
And a butterfly net
Ones for tennis and fishing at sea.

When I was a little child
I was afraid of mozzies wild.
So into my little bed I'd get
Safe and sound beneath my net.
Now in our homes we all are screened,
From all discomforts we are weaned.
But those who live in lands afar
Face dangers from mal-a-ri-a.
Your present will their refuge be:
Into its safety they can flee.

Loo with a view

When in the comfort of your home
You sit upon a ceramic throne,
Let your thoughts roam far and wide
For those who have no place to hide
Except behind a bush or tree:
Those not as fortunate as we.
Your gift will save them from much strife
And give a healthier way of life.

Life Auction simulation game | Top

Imagine for a moment that your whole future is up for grabs. Everything. Where you live, what work you do, how much food you have to eat. We will be conducting an auction where you will have the chance to bid for all the necessities of life. If you don't buy it at the auction, then you don't have it.

This easy to run simulation game helps illustrate the lack of choices many people have as a result of where they live.

It can be played with anywhere from 10 to 100 people and demonstrates the value of each item from The Useful Gift Catalogue.

Download everything you need to run the game (2.1mb, ZIP file).
